SOUTH NORFOLK LOCAL PLAN - amendments that were due to affect Ashby St Mary.
The most recent communication to reach the Parish Council (November 2013) from South Norfolk District Council shows the map of Thurton and Ashby no longer has a site highlighted for allocation, confirmed by the statement within it that “no sites have been allocated for development due to a lack of sites that are both suitable for development and deliverable within the Plan period”. This is the confirmation that no sites have been allocated in Ashby or Thurton under the Local Plan for Development. The previously proposed Mill Common housing development is not proceeding.

PARISH PLAN

(FOR SUBSEQUENT PARISH PLAN REVIEWS - SEE BELOW)
During 2004, South Norfolk District Council made your Parish Council aware of the importance of producing a plan for the parish. Every parish was recommended to produce one not only to identify the aims of a Parish Council, but also to identify potential actions which were not supported by its residents. After seeking the views of every household in the parish, Ashby St Mary published its Parish Plan in 2005.

A boxed CD version of the Parish Plan for Ashby St Mary can be purchased for just £2 plus p&p or delivered free of p&p to any address within the Parish. The Clerk to Ashby St Mary can provide details of this. For the Parish Clerk's contact details please click HERE

A more comprehensive review has since taken place which addresses each action point in the Parish Council's original Parish Plan. Parish Plan Review - Summer 2008 (revised)
As part of the Parish Council's constant monitoring of subjects affecting the residents of Ashby, a further review was published in the summer of 2009.    Parish Plan Review - Summer 2009
